Funding for Opioid Overdose Prevention Activities
The goal of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to support organizations in NYC that are currently registered with the New York State Department of Health as Opioid Overdose Prevention Programs (OOPPs), or are interested in becoming OOPPs by March 28, 2017, to increase overdose prevention education and naloxone distribution. Naloxone is a safe medication that reverses opioid overdoses and saves lives.
DOHMH seeks to fund institutions that are able to offer overdose prevention and naloxone distribution at no cost to participants in a culturally and linguistically competent manner. Funding should be used to increase naloxone distribution capacity by increasing staff or hours of outreach. Funding is not available to syringe exchange programs.
The maximum amount of funding available to registered OOPPs is $50,000. The range of funding for new OOPPs is $25,000 – $35,000.
