The Challenges We Face in the Fight Against Measles

The measles epidemic has grown rapidly over the past eight months; there are now over 550 cases in New York City alone. This outbreak has posed many challenges, particularly in combating the spread of anti-vaccine misinformation. Additionally, the City has had to question how to balance civil liberty with civic accountability, the right to refuse vaccination or the necessity to protect those who cannot receive vaccines.
